  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup
  • 1/4 cup water adjust for thickness
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon onion powder for extra depth

Method

  2. Prepare the chilies by roasting or lightly charring them on a grill or stovetop until soft and blistered. Let cool and remove stems and most seeds for a smoother sauce.
  3. Add all ingredients into a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and let cook for 10 minutes to blend flavors.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Add water gradually to reach your desired consistency.
  5. Strain the sauce through a fine mesh sieve for a thinner, smoother texture (optional).
  6. Cool and store in a sterilized bottle or jar. Refrigerate and use within 2 weeks for best flavor.

Notes

Notes:
For more heat, keep some chili seeds or add extra cayenne.
For sweetness, add more honey or a splash of pineapple juice.
Shake well before each use as natural separation may occur.
