Method

  2. Wash and dry the peaches. Cut them in half, remove the pit, and slice each half into 3–4 wedges. Peeling is optional.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and allow it to melt.
  4. Sprinkle in the sugar and stir gently to combine with the butter until it starts bubbling.
  5. Add the peach slices in a single layer, cut side down. Let them cook undisturbed for 3–4 minutes.
  6. Flip the slices and cook for another 2–3 minutes, until tender and golden.
  7. Add vanilla, cinnamon, or lemon juice if using. Stir gently to coat the peaches in the syrup.
  8. Remove from heat. Serve warm over ice cream, pancakes, yogurt, or as-is.
