  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Lightly grease the mini donut pan with nonstick spray or melted butter.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. In another bowl, combine buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
  7. Transfer batter to a piping bag and pipe into the mini donut cavities, filling each about 2/3 full.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool for a few minutes in the pan, then transfer to a cooling rack.

Notes:
These are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
Freeze for longer storage, reheating gently before serving.
Decorate with cinnamon sugar or chocolate glaze if desired.
