Method
- Instructions:
- Make the sauce
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayo, mustard, hot sauce, paprika, garlic powder, turmeric, cayenne, and vinegar/lemon juice. Adjust to taste. Chill while preparing the sandwich.
- Toast the muffin
- Toast the English muffin halves until golden brown. Set aside.
- Cook the sausage
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the pork sausage patty for 3–4 minutes per side until fully cooked and browned.
- Assemble the sandwich
- Place the cooked sausage on the bottom half of the muffin. Add a slice of American cheese on top so it melts slightly from the heat.
- Add the spicy sauce
- Spread a generous amount of the spicy pepper sauce on the top muffin half.
- Finish and serve
- Close the sandwich, press lightly, and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
Notes:
For a more authentic version, you can use McDonald’s original ingredients if available or request extra sauce packets to-go. Add a fried or scrambled egg to make it closer to a Spicy Sausage Egg McMuffin. Control the heat level by adjusting the cayenne or hot sauce. Great with hash browns or black coffee for the full McDonald’s breakfast vibe.
