  • 2 –3 tablespoons coconut oil avocado oil, or vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional:
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • A dash of hot sauce
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes
  • Nutritional yeast

Method
 

  1. Instructions:
  2. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium-high heat.
  3. Add 2–3 kernels and cover. When they pop, add the rest of the kernels, shake to spread, and cover.
  4. Allow to pop, shaking the pot occasionally until popping slows to 2 seconds between pops.
  5. Transfer popcorn to a large bowl.
  6. Mix spices together in a small bowl.
  7. Drizzle a small amount of melted butter or oil over the popcorn to help the spices stick.
  8. Sprinkle the spice blend over the popcorn and toss well.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  10. Enjoy fresh!

Notes:
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Adjust the level of spice by reducing or increasing the cayenne pepper.
Air-popped popcorn works too — just toss with oil and spices afterward.
